Originally from the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia, Aaron is a graduate of LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA, where he received a bachelor’s degree in music with a vocal concentration. As a student, Aaron performed under the legendary leadership of Robert Shaw, Anton Armstrong, and Andre Thomas.
Aaron began directing choirs at the age of 11, quickly finding his passion in music and shortly thereafter began a youth choir that has toured the US and traveled to Russia numerous times. This choir of up to 100 youth and young adults has been invited to sing for the President of the United States and performed at National Conferences, and gorgeous venues like St. Basil’s Cathedral.
Aaron headed the Middlesex High School Choral Department and from there continued teaching choral music and handbells at Ware Academy, his elementary school alma mater. He has been the Director of Music for numerous churches and community ensembles, as well as Guest Clinician and Director for many Handbell and Choral Festivals.
Aaron is an excellent, creative musician with good leadership and communication skills, but his true gift is conducting. His directions and instructions are clear and unambiguous, and he invests every rehearsal and performance with painstaking patience and respect to every detail and nuance.
In the fall of 2016, Aaron moved to the River City where he is excited about the opportunity to serve as the Director of the NoteAbles.
