Erin Wind is native of Richmond, Virginia who holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (choral) from Longwood University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Iowa. During her school years Erin performed in the Camarata Singers and Chamber Singers at Longwood University, as well as the Concert Chorale and Cantorei at the University of Northern Iowa.
As a director, Erin finds her greatest joy and focus by facilitating collaborations involving new works as a way of connecting our communities and various art forms through music. In 2018 the Women’s chorus worked with a local poet and composer to create a new work that fused spoken word and music.
In addition to directing the Richmond Women’s Chorus, Erin is an alto section leader with Second Presbyterian Church, and is an active singer-songwriter and guitarist.
